Student Success Statement
“Nothing in
the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more
common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; the world is full of
educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan
‘Press On’ has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.”
—Calvin Coolidge, 30th President
of the United States
I think that Calvin is right, there is
nothing that will take the place of persistence. Persistence is one of the many
things that you need to succeed and without it, there cannot be success. For
example, if you want to better at something, you have to be persistent, if you aren’t,
then you will not become better and achieve success. If you try any other way,
then you won’t succeed. Persistence cannot be replaced.
