Tony Farmer was one of the most highly-recruited high school players in Ohio, fainted in court when he heard he was given a 3 year prison sentence. Tony had kidnapped his girlfriend, stole a credit card, and sent faulty text messages. Everything he did made him go to court and have this prison sentence.

I think that Tony wasn’t very smart to do what he did. He kidnapped his girlfriend, which in the first place you shouldn’t be doing. You should be treating women with respect and care not kidnapping them. The fact that he stole the credit card and sent faulty text messaged added to his prison sentence. He should have thought what the consequences would have been before he had even started. This way he would have seen what would have happened and he would have been fine. Think before you act.

Alex Schwazer from Italy won the gold medal for speed walking in the Olympics. He took a world record time and he was joyful when he had finally finished the race and won first place. However, he was caught using drugs to enhance his performance and ended up being banned. He gave a lengthy, tear-filled press conference saying he was happy to have been caught.

 

I think that Alex is not a good person. He chose the wrong and decided to cheat and win the race through other means instead of being fair. He knew what he had done and like it said, he was happy he was caught because he was feeling so guilty of what he had done and his conscious had been eaten up by his guilt. He is an example of what can happen to you if you choose the wrong and don’t play by the rules.

Marion Jones was a part of the Olympic team and had a great future. She had won 3 gold medals and 2 bronze medals. Yet everything turned upside down when she cheated for using drugs to enhance her performance. She lied to the officials and she got caught. She was then stripped of her medals and sent to prison for 6 months.

 

I think that Marion shouldn’t have cheated. She knew that she was doing wrong things and she knew what she was getting herself into. She was choosing the wrong the entire time she took those drugs. It’s that same thing as if cheating in a video game or cheating at school. You might feel great and on top of the world, but as soon as you get caught everything comes crashing down. The bigger you are when you cheat, the harder you will fall.

Two grandparents locked a child for six years in their restroom. They felt that the child was not meeting their rules and so they punished the girl. They locked her up for six years and the only time she could come out was to go to school. The grandparents were charged with a first and third-degree felony punishable for many years in prison.

 

I think that this is really messed up. To put a child in a restroom for six years? That is no way to treat someone that is innocent and small. They should be locked up in a restroom for six years to see what it felt like for the girl. This is no way to treat a child and I know that justice is served when I hear that they will be going to prison. The grandparents should be ashamed of what they did.

A group of girls were playing softball and Sarah the girl from Central Washington hit a home run. In an effort to go back to 1^st base because she didn’t touch it, she hurt her knee and couldn’t move. The two girls, Mallory and Liz from Western Oregon (the opposite team), went around all bases and helped her touch all of them and score her homerun. It was the last bat of her career.

I think that this is amazing. The two girls who volunteered to help her out have really good sportsmanship. Even though they were going to lose because of the homerun she did, they still helped her go across the diamonds. They did the right thing at the right time. They should be proud of themselves for doing what they did. They truly do have great character.

This story was about the tournaments with horses. There was torture going on with the horses, just to train them to do some fancy walk. They put some chemicals near the horse’s ankles and would treat them harshly to walk like they did. All of this just for a ribbon that is worth $1.95. The people were becoming into evil monsters that harmed innocent animals for nothing. The trainers had no feelings towards this matter, and as a result, when they got caught, they ran out of business. Even Pepsi severed ties with the tournaments due to what the news found out.

I think that this is really disgusting. People should not be hurting animals just for pleasure. They hurt them to win a dumb medal that, in the end, isn’t even worth anything. The horses are beautiful and they don’t deserve that kind of treatment, not from anyone. The trainers need to go to jail for what they do to them, it is inhumane to torture or hurt an animal on purpose to win some money or medals. The trainers should also be forced to pay for the damages done to the horse and anything else they did harm to. The video was shocking and it was wrong for them to do that. I don’t think I’ll ever attend one of those tournaments, not after what I saw.

Jermaine Jones from American Idol was disqualified for his criminal past. He was convicted many times before and he was disqualified because he had hid the information from the people. He was 4 warrants, 3 for driving with a suspended license and 1 for disorderly conduct. He was trying to cover up his criminal past so he could be on the show American Idol.

I think that Jermaine chose the wrong many times. He is now covered with spots when he should have stayed clean. He did many things in his past that made him look bad. He covered all of this up just to be on American Idol. It says that he was charged for hindering apprehension and giving false information to avoid self-discovery. This just showed how much of a criminal he really was. He tried to lie to the cops just so that he could look good and clean when in reality he wasn’t. That’s why he was disqualified from the show.

This news story is about Tiger Woods and his family. His half-brothers need help from him.  His brother has multiple sclerosis and need medical attention. Also, his brother is losing his home due to the fact that he needs the money for the caregiver. He doesn’t have money for both the home and the caregiver. They are leaving messages but Tiger will not reply. They need his help urgently. They have never asked for anything and this is the first thing they ask for, the health of his brother, but he won’t reply.

I think that Tiger needs to wake up and see what is happening. His brother is dying and he needs help really quick. Even though he is doing fine right now, he may soon not be fine. He needs Tiger’s help to pay for the home while he pays for the caregiver. Tiger makes millions and millions when he is playing and he can’t spare some money to save his brother? This is wrong and Tiger should be helping him. He should have a kind heart and reach out to others especially family.
